Behind the shapes, the reliefs and the colors of Lamiel's paintings, "we feel the heart of Africa beating" as said Leopold Sedar Senghor. Lamiel developed her unique technique in Senegal, in Mali, climbing the cliffs of Bandiagara, but also in Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.
In Mali Lamiel is fascinated by this consuming land: landscapes that are immense empty and still contrasting with the swarm of urban life. According to Senghor, words call for pictures in Africa. When contemplating Lamiel's work pictures bring back words and music.
